FAQ

Do we have to live near the school to apply?

No. Schools in NI no longer have ‘catchment areas’. In past years we have enrolled children from as far away as Lisburn, Moira, Annahilt and Dromore. Increasing numbers of families drop their children off at Breakfast Club at 8.00am on the way to work, then pick them up from the Daycare Centre between 5pm and 6pm. However, if we are over-subscribed, our admissions criteria is applied, and at that stage, distance from home to school becomes a factor. Click here for admissions criteria

When can I register my child?

We can pre-register your child’s details at any time. If we have you on file we can then send out further details and enrolment application forms early in the year that your child is due to start primary school. Application takes place during January of the year your child is due to start school.

What about transfer after P7?

Our children transfer to a wide range of grammar schools, secondary schools and integrated colleges. Many of our pupils choose to undertake AQE assessments for Grammar School entry. We have excellent relationships with many schools and colleges in Belfast, Lisburn and further afield.

Do we need to register for Breakfast Club and Daycare?

Breakfast Club operates as a cash cafeteria from 8.00am each morning. No registration required. Children choose from a range of healthy options including toast, cereal, juice, yoghurt, fruit and pancakes.

You do need to register your child for our Daycare Centre. Daycare is fee-paying and operates from 2.00pm-6.00pm during term-time and from 8.00am-6.00pm during all school holidays. See more details on the website under ‘extended services’ or email us at [email protected] for further information.
